When was the last time you were used?
When was the last time you didn't get what you believed you deserved?
How did that make you feel? What effect did it have on your self belief?
Guess who's fault that was... Your own.
(Don't shoot the messenger, let me explain)
Why is this your fault? You're a nice person, you do your best for everyone around you! You care which is more then others!
Here is where you went wrong, YOU DID NOT SET A STANDARD FOR YOURSELF.
If you told your new partner I want 100% honesty or I'm out and never again.... From the very start. Would they have cheated on you? Maybe so maybe not.
Here's the key, the standard would have been set. They would know the boundaries.
If you said you needed payment on time or the product would not be delivered. You have set the standard.
If you told your employer you expect to be paid a certain way or treated a certain way, they agreed and circumstances changed over time. You can remind them, or leave.
You see this is whats called, Setting boundaries. It's what governs your whole life. Without these you open yourself up to a total random set of events that you may not want in your life.
Potentially Emotional, Mental, Physical disasters.
It takes absolute courage to set standards, this is what I struggle with the most.
You need to be able to have honest conversations. you'll find once you have these conversations you are in control of your life.
What you say, more importantly what you do.... has a huge effect on everyone and everything around you.
Have standards in business and life.
Be honest, be real. Be great.
All the best.
