Being present allows us to appreciate the little things in life instead of worrying about the things in our lives that happen day to day.

When our lives are so busy, and we are constantly running we sometimes forget to slow down and be in the present moment so we can still enjoy life fully. So, what does present really mean? And how exactly can we live in the moment?

5 Ways to be present every day!!

Being present means creating awareness and paying attention to what’s going on around you and your environment this can be a struggle, but I have put together a few ideas that you can practice and use as a guide so you can start to enjoy the little things in life when things get a bit chaotic around you.

1-  Notice your surroundings!

Take a moment to check in with yourself sit quietly and go inward. Ask yourself some questions like: What is around me? How am I feeling right now? What can I hear? Who is around me? What am I grateful for? This only takes a few minutes and is a great thing to do it keeps you aware of your surroundings and the thoughts you are thinking.

2 – Take time out!

Making sure you carve out time in your day to intentionally be present, a walk in the park or listening to relaxation music for calmness while you are cooking or doing the house work, Mindfulness is something that takes patience and great to have in your daily routine weather it be a meditation practice, yoga or another mindfulness practice make sure you take time out for you.

3 – Detach from technology!

Try to spend time away from your phone and computer every day. Read a book, go for a walk or go have coffee with a friend its important to have time away from the internet and to connect with our loved ones around us and appreciate one another’s company.

 4 – Journal your feelings!

Connecting to how you feel is important. I encourage you to sit with a pen and paper and write out everything you are feeling without judgment or criticism just be and let yourself feel. This helps with mental chatter we may experience throughout the day and keeps us grounded as we are aware of our thoughts and feelings and know that we have the power to change them.

5 – Focus on your breath!

Throughout the day you can be so caught up in things that we forget the most important thing to breath ha-ha!! It sounds silly but its true most of the time we forget the very importance of our breath, So I encourage you throughout your day to stop and take a couple of deep breaths into your belly and focus your mind on your inhaling and exhaling. This will align you with being in the present moment.

I hope that these five practices help you in your daily life! I would be really interested to hear from you if you have any daily practices that you incorporate into your daily routine, its great to give each other ideas and encourage one another to at least finding time throughout the day to be in the present moment and enjoy life’s riches gifts of just being present 😊

Please comment below I would be interested to hear your ideas 😊

Sending much love and light to you all!

Peace & Love,
